Ledgerer (“we”, “us”) is a personal money-ledger app. It helps you track people, amounts you owe, amounts owed to you, and payments. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can delete it.
Who this covers
This applies to the Ledgerer iOS and Android apps and the hosted service that stores your ledger.
Information we collect
You choose what to enter. Depending on how you sign in, we may store:
Account: username, a hashed password, display name, email, preferred currency, and (if you use Google / Clerk) a Clerk user id
People you add: name, optional contact details, optional notes
Debts: amount, currency, whether you owe or are owed, due date, status, optional notes
Payments: amount, date, optional notes
On your device: a sign-in token so you stay logged in
We do not ask for your bank login, card numbers, or contacts list. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
How we use it
We use this information only to run the app: sign you in, show your balances, record payments, mark debts overdue or settled, and delete your account when you ask.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your information. We use these processors to run the service:
Clerk — sign-in, including Google if you choose that option
Google — only if you sign in with Google
Neon — stores your ledger in a database
FastAPI Cloud and Cloudflare — host and deliver the API
They receive only what is needed to provide that service.
Where it is stored
Account and ledger data are stored on our hosted API and database (currently in the United States). Your sign-in token is stored on your phone.
How long we keep it
We keep your data until you delete your account. You can delete it in the app under Profile. That permanently removes your user, your Clerk / Google sign-in if you used one, and every person, debt, and payment. After deletion we do not keep a copy for the app.
Children
Ledgerer is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Security
Passwords are stored hashed, not in plain text. Access to the API requires a valid sign-in token. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
Your choices
You can update your profile and preferred currency in the app, and you can delete your account at any time. If you signed in with Google, deleting the Ledgerer account also removes the linked Clerk identity we created for the app. It does not delete your Google account.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
