My values and vocation led me to this mission
I empower organizations to reach their mission by coaching community stakeholders to create and institute strategic plans, fundraising strategies, financial goals and best practices, and mission-driven, people-centered leadership decisions.
With a deep understanding of mission-driven organizations, I offer personalized solutions to help your organization thrive, whether you're just starting, looking to grow, or navigating transitions. Let's work together to create meaningful impact.
Growing up in small-town Jesup, Georgia, my people connected the dots between the values of family, Black entrepreneurship, and community liberation.
My grandfather and uncle founded Royal Funeral Home, the first Black owned and operated funeral home in Wayne County. When my Mama wasn't running the local middle or elementary schools, she was managing Royal Funeral Home's operations and books on the side. She wanted me to understand and respect the power of business ownership, which was the legacy she was helping to create. I sold Brother Man comic books for a while, and always came in first for raising the most in our school fundraisers!
Their commitment to community service, Black ownership, and compassionate relationships led me to a 19-year career in congregation-based community organizing. During my organizing tenure, I assisted congregational leaders in building strong justice ministry programs that curbed crime, increased the availability of affordable housing, and provided drug treatment for women in the local jail! I also worked shoulder-to-shoulder with pastors and laity to start a local organization that is tackling gun violence, youth arrests, and hunger.
I am proud to have assisted in their success by engaging their stakeholders in owning the organization through activism and financial investments.
