If you want a robust, UL-certified solution for unlocking high-speed Tesla Supercharger access on your electric vehicle, choose Lectron NACS; if you need a simple, versatile adapter to convert standard Type 1 outlets to Type 2 charging stations for slower home or public top-ups, choose Bvuxenolith 16A/32A. This isn't about which one is cheaper or which has more five-star reviews; it is about matching the right hardware to your specific charging infrastructure and power needs. I have spent time analyzing the technical specifications and design intent behind these two adapters, and the distinction is stark enough that buying the wrong one would leave you stranded or underutilized. For motorcycle enthusiasts or EV owners looking to expand their range with reliable fast-charging capabilities, this comparison is critical because the difference between a 500-amp DC fast charger and a 32-amp AC unit defines your entire travel strategy.
• Lectron NACS: The standout strength is its ability to unlock the massive Tesla Supercharger network with 500A/1000V rated performance, but the trade-off is that it is strictly for DC fast charging and requires specific automaker compatibility.
• Bvuxenolith 16A/32A: Its biggest advantage is versatility in handling standard AC charging speeds up to 7.2KW, yet it lacks the high-voltage interlock and safety certifications required for the extreme currents of DC fast charging.
• Who should buy Lectron: Drivers who own supported CCS1 EVs and need rapid energy replenishment on long road trips using the Tesla grid.
• Who should buy Bvuxenolith: Owners of Type 1 vehicles who need a straightforward plug-and-play solution for converting existing Type 1 outlets to work with Type 2 chargers.
The Lectron Vortex Plus is engineered for a very specific, high-performance use case: bridging the gap between non-Tesla electric vehicles and the Tesla Supercharger network. This adapter is not just a piece of plastic; it is a heavy-duty component built to handle the rigors of DC fast charging. With a rating of 500A and 1000V, it is designed to facilitate lightning-fast charging sessions where you can gain up to 150 miles of range in as little as 15 minutes. This capability transforms the way you approach road trips, turning a day-long drive into a series of quick pit stops rather than hours spent waiting at slow chargers.
Safety is the core philosophy behind this product, evidenced by its status as the first publicly available NACS to CCS adapter certified under UL 2252 by SGS. This certification covers thermal and mechanical performance, ensuring the device can withstand the intense heat and electrical stress generated during high-speed charging. The secure interlock design is a crucial feature here; it physically ensures the connection remains tight and safe while high-voltage DC power flows through the system. Without this mechanism, the risk of arcing or connection failure at such high amperages would be unacceptably high.

This adapter is ideal for drivers who own supported CCS1 electric vehicles that have been granted access to the Tesla Supercharger network by their automakers. If your vehicle allows this connection, the Lectron adapter opens the door to over 25,000 V3 and V4 Superchargers nationwide. However, it is not for everyone. It does not work with Tesla vehicles themselves, nor does it support AC charging stations. If you are looking for a daily driver solution for plugging into a standard wall outlet or a basic Level 2 station, this device is overkill and technically incompatible with those lower-power scenarios.
The Bvuxenolith adapter serves a completely different niche in the EV ecosystem. It is a Type 1 to Type 2 converter designed to handle AC charging currents ranging from 16A to 32A, delivering power levels of 3.5KW or 7.2KW depending on the setup. This is the kind of hardware you reach for when you have a vehicle with a Type 1 inlet and you encounter a charging station equipped with a Type 2 socket, or vice versa. It simplifies the charging process for users who do not require the immediate, massive throughput of a DC fast charger but need reliable access to standard public or residential charging points.
The primary value proposition here is simplicity and broad compatibility within the AC charging realm. By supporting both 16A and 32A inputs, it offers flexibility for different outlet configurations and circuit capacities. Whether you are charging at a friend's house with a standard outlet or at a public parking lot with a higher-capacity charger, this adapter adapts to the situation without needing complex settings. It is a passive connector that relies on the upstream charger to dictate the speed, making it a versatile tool for daily commuting and overnight charging routines.
However, this adapter is not built for the extremes. It lacks the high-voltage interlock and the UL 2252 certification that characterizes the Lectron unit. It is not designed to handle the 500A/1000V surge of a Tesla Supercharger. If you attempt to use this for DC fast charging, it will likely fail or pose a safety risk. It is best suited for Type 1 vehicle owners who want to avoid being locked out of Type 2 stations or who need to adapt their vehicle to different AC charging environments. It is a practical, everyday tool rather than a high-performance racing accessory.
• Best for high-speed road trips → Lectron NACS, thanks to its 500A/1000V rating and access to the Supercharger network.
• Best for daily AC charging conversions → Bvuxenolith 16A/32A, offering flexible 3.5KW to 7.2KW adaptation for Type 1 to Type 2 setups.
• Best for safety certification → Lectron NACS, the only one listed with UL 2252 certification for thermal and mechanical safety.
• Best for versatile outlet compatibility → Bvuxenolith 16A/32A, handling a range of AC amperage without requiring specific automaker grants.
• Best for DC fast charging → Lectron NACS exclusively, as the other unit is not rated for high-voltage DC applications.
• Best for standard home/public charging → Bvuxenolith 16A/32A, perfect for converting standard plugs to match Type 2 station requirements.
• Best for long-term durability in harsh conditions → Lectron NACS, featuring an interlock mechanism designed for high-stress connections.
• Best for simplicity and ease of use → Bvuxenolith 16A/32A, a straightforward adapter for common AC charging scenarios.
If I were planning a cross-country ride on my electric motorcycle, I would buy the Lectron NACS without hesitation. The ability to tap into the Tesla Supercharger network with a UL-certified, high-amperage adapter provides a level of freedom and speed that the Bvuxenolith simply cannot match. While the Bvuxenolith is a useful tool for adapting to local AC outlets, the Lectron solves the most painful problem for EV riders: finding a fast charge when you are away from home. In my opinion, the safety features and raw performance make it the superior choice for anyone serious about expanding their range and reducing downtime.
No, the Lectron NACS is designed exclusively for DC fast charging via Tesla Superchargers and is not compatible with AC charging stations or Tesla vehicles.
No, the Bvuxenolith 16A/32A is rated for AC charging only (up to 7.2KW) and is not built to handle the high voltage and current of DC fast charging networks.
Yes, the Lectron Vortex Plus is the first publicly available NACS to CCS adapter certified under UL 2252 by SGS, ensuring safety during high-voltage DC charging.
For general AC charging, the Bvuxenolith is the correct choice to connect to Type 2 stations, but for accessing high-speed DC supercharging, you would need the Lectron if your bike supports the necessary interface and automaker permissions.
