Thank you for using Lectori ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application.
Our core philosophy is Local-First. We believe your reading habits and personal notes are private. As such, Lectori is designed so that your personal data remains on your device and is not collected, stored, or processed by us on external servers.
We do not create user accounts, and we do not store your reading data on our servers.
Personal Data: We do not collect your name, email, or phone number.
Reading Data: Your library, reading progress, and personal notes are stored locally in a database on your device. We (the developers) have no access to this data.
All data entered into the application (Books, Reading Sessions, Notes, Ratings) is stored locally on your device using SQLite.
Data Control: You have full control over this data.
Data Loss: Because data is stored locally, if you delete the application or lose your device without a backup, your data may be lost. We cannot recover this data for you.
While the app is local-first, we use specific third-party services to provide functionality (like fetching book covers).
When you use the Search or Scan Barcode feature to add a book:
We send the search query (Title, Author, or ISBN) to the Google Books API.
This is necessary to fetch book metadata (Title, Author, Page Count) and Cover Images.
Google may collect standard internet log information (like your IP address) when these requests are made.
Your usage of the search feature is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Lectori requests the following permissions to function:
Camera: Used exclusively to scan book barcodes (ISBNs).
The scanning process happens in real-time on your device.
We do not save, record, or transmit images or videos from your camera to any external server.
The app requires an internet connection solely for:
Fetching book details from Google Books.
Downloading book cover images.
If you use the app completely offline, you can still manually enter book details, but the search/scan features will not work.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
