About me:
Hi everyone! My name is Lechen (Leo) Wang! I am a first-year PhD student in the Department of Mathematics at Texas A&M University. I am broadly interested in stochastics processes and partial differential equations (PDEs).
I received my B.S. in mathematics and certificate with special honors from the University of Texas at Austin, along with a certificate in elements of computing, after transferring from the University of Western Australia. My honors thesis titled: A Generalized Langevin Diffusion with State-Dependent Variance, was supervised by Professor Stephen Walker.
Outside of academics, I enjoy playing the piano, badminton, table tennis and sometimes basketball. During holidays, I enjoy travelling and seeing the beauty of the world.

I was a participant of UT Austin's Mathematics Directed Reading Program (DRP) for two years. I attached some of the slides I have made. My main focus was on PDEs, particularly the Schrödinger Equation.

Other work:
In summer 2026 I had the privilege to participate in the RIPS program hosted by the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics. Our project focused on resource analysis and lean formalization of various CS algorithms.
We developed ResourceAwareLean, which lets us define an abstract program once and flexibly swap in different cost models, and RandCostM, which extends the framework to randomized algorithms and expected-cost analysis. Please checkout our Github Repo here.
