Learn the multiples in order

A tables leg is a strip of card with a table written on it that you can use as a bookmark. Use it to practise counting in multiples until you learn the 12 numbers so well you can say them all quickly.

Step 2

Learn the MULTIPLICATIONS muddled up

1) Fold your tables leg in half.

2) Ask a partner to hold it so that the numbers 1-10 are facing you.

3) Your partner points at one of the numbers 1-10.

4) Tell your partner the number that matches it e.g. in the 3 times table, if your partner points at 7 you say 21.

5) Repeat for the other numbers in a random order.

Step 3

Learn the DIVISIONS muddled up

1) Fold your tables leg in half.

2) Ask a partner to hold it so that the multiples are facing you.

3) Your partner points at one of the multiples.

4) Tell your partner the number that matches it e.g. in the 3 times table, if your partner points at 21 you say 7.

5) Repeat for the other numbers in a random order.
