World War II Paper/ Evaluating Websites
You will need to find two websites to use as references. When you write the paper you will need to use the following evaluations for resources on whether the websites are factual and legitimate resources. You will need to show evidence of your findings. Make sure you use citations and use references.
The first method that you will use is called the CRAAP method.
What is the CRAAP method?
The CRAAP test is a method for evaluating the credibility and appropriateness of the website for research. CRAAP stands for Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy and Purpose.
Currency is the timeliness of the information. Relevance is the importance of the information you need. Authority is the source of the information. Accuracy is the reliability, truthfulness, and correctness of the content. Purpose is the reason the information exists. Evaluating Sources: The CRAAP Test (July 2024)
Students: The following video will explain how to use the CRAAP evaluation method. Evaluating Sources: The CRAAP Test (July 2024)
Parents this would be a good way to help your child be able to evaluate the websites that they are using. The following is an example of a CRAAP Test done on a website. For the websites to be an approriate website they will need to score at least a 20 out of 24.

The next method you will use is called the 5Ws. To use this method you will ask the questions who, what, when, where and why.
Students: The following video will explain how to use the 5Ws method to evaluate a website.
Parents: The following is an example of a 5Ws test that you can use to help you evaluate the websites.

The following methods are both good methods to use to evaluate the credibility of websites. When you are researching for the paper it is important that you are using reliable sources.
The CRAAP method and the 5Ws are similar because they both ask similar questions when evaluating the websites. Some of the questions that are similar are is the author a reliable source? Are the dates current for the information that is given? Is the information that is given grammatically correct and have correct spelling?
Some of the differences in the methods are the way that you go about getting the information. The 5Ws have you ask five simple questions to answer as you evaluate the websites. The CRAAP method has a more in depth look at what needs to be evaluted when looking at the website.
