After an outline history of epistemology in academia, we will consider a range of stances towards knowledge. We will discuss some epistemological duties as researchers. We will then turn our attention to how we can talk about epistemology in our research publications, and the influence it has on methodology.

How can we identify what qualifies as SoTL? In this session, we will discuss how to distinguish SoTL from related activities and gather experiences on what helps us and our colleagues in discovering our purpose and determining our directions in SoTL.
