Hello! I am so happy you are here. My name is Alyssa Smith, and I teach first grade at a Title 1 school in Kansas City, Missouri. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri - Kansas City back in 2022, and I am currently working on my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction through Northwest Missouri State University. 

Education has always been my passion. As a little girl, I loved going to school every day! I consider myself a lifelong learner and I am dedicated to having a learner's mindset not just in my career, but also in my daily life and interactions with friends and family. I believe that education is a human right, and I strive to provide an equitable learning environment for all students. I believe that it is my job to foster relationships with both students and their families, to bridge the gap between school and home. 

My hope with this website is that it can function as a learning space for the families I serve, as well as other teachers. Take a look around, there's lot's to come!
