When I found out about ABA, I was very interested in joining the field. It seemed like a great career that would actually make a difference and have a positive impact on people's lives. Now, after being in the field for multiple years, I can say that I truly love what I do and the effect it has on both the parents and the kids' lives.
In my opinion, the most rewarding part of this field is to see how the kids improve over time. The kids not only improve their communication skills, but also the way they interact and play with others. It is all very exciting to see and be apart of. Furthermore, I love when parents start to see the differences and behavior improvements in their child outside of our work setting. This shows generalization which is a big goal for all of our learners. I love ABA because it gives the kids skills that will hopefully help them for the rest of their lives.
All of these improvements are great but what I really enjoy is just being able to make learning and day to day interactions fun for the kids. ABA is awesome and I hope I can continue to provide a positive service to kids and their families and have fun doing it.
