LGBTQ+ Educators and Allies Resource Network
Â
LEARN is a network of LGBTQ+ educators, students, families, and allies advocating for equality and inclusion in schools and educational spaces. Our group offers opportunities for connection, resource-sharing, and activism centered on LGBTQ+ issues in education. We believe that all people should be celebrated and valued in educational communities across the lines of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. We are a progam at the Guilford Green Foundation and LGBT Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.
This site serves as a comprehensive resource hub for LGBTQ+ educators and allies, providing access to curated materials that foster inclusivity, promote advocacy, and enhance the educational experience for LGBTQ+ students. Whether you're an educator seeking classroom tools, a student looking for support, or a family member seeking guidance on how to advocate for LGBTQ+ youth, LEARN offers tools, resources, and a supportive community to help create safer, more inclusive educational environments.
As educators, we play a vital role in creating inclusive classrooms. This section offers resources that will help you develop LGBTQ+ inclusive curricula, implement best practices for supporting LGBTQ+ students, and create a safe, welcoming environment for all learners.
LGBTQ+ students face unique challenges in educational spaces. Here, you'll find resources for students that promote mental health, self-empowerment, and educational success, along with support networks to help them navigate their school environment.
Families are key allies in creating supportive communities for LGBTQ+ youth. This section provides resources for parents and caregivers on how to advocate for LGBTQ+ students, communicate with schools, and support the well-being of their children at home.
