Sovetakan Karabakh (Soviet Karabakh) was founded in 1923. It largely focused on the "Karabakh Problem," chronicling the persecution of the indigenous Karabakh / Artsakh Armenians and expressing their will for self-determination. Often, the editors of Soviet Karabakh were fired or persecuted when writing about the injustices perpetrated against the Armenians of Karabakh by the Azerbaijani SSR.

The River Ran Red
The River Ran Red (2009) is a documentary of testimonies from survivors of the Armenian Genocide. The title of the documentary is in reference to the Euphrates River, in which hundreds of thousands of Armenians were drowned or disposed of in, to the point where the river's pollution caused epidemics long after the massacres.

A 1993 documentary follows the events of Operation Ring "Koltso," the forced deportation and massacre of the Armenians of Artsakh's Shahumyan region.
Created by Tsvetana Paskaleva, a Bulgarian-Armenian journalist who quit her PhD studies in Moscow and traveled to Artsakh to cover the Liberation War. She was the first foreign journalist to cover Operation Ring and made seven documentaries throughout the course of the war, which she later presented to the US Congress, the UN, and Amnesty International. After the war, she lived in Yerevan and dedicated her life's work to Artsakh, hosting several TV programs honoring Armenian martyrs. Translated by Sonya Torosyan and Arina.
