I use GPA which stands for Growing Participator Approach. Within this approach, the students take the role of the participant.
My curriculum includes three levels for Spoken Arabic.
In level 1, I focus on speaking and listening skills. Level 1 classes are designed to be separate classes for vocab or for verbs. In the vocab class, participants learn new words through flashcards and drill them. In the verbs class, participants learn verbs and their conjugations, plus they get to create sentences and questions using the vocab of the pervious classes.
Varying between both types of classes allows the students to talk about their family, friends, and daily routine with no time.
In level 2, I focus more on conversation, watching videos in Spoken Arabic, and talking about situations in daily life.
In level 3, I move towards discussions about deep life situations and help students talk about topics like mental health, religion, politics, etc...
After each class, I send my students a voice recording of all the new vocab and sentences.
I also give my students homework after each class: either a voice or video recording relevant to the material we learned in class.
Thank you for reading. I hope I could inspire you to start your Arabic journey with me and be my next student and friend.
