Purpose
The purpose of learn to dive is to explain to new divers basic hand signals for diving underwater. Hand signals are a crucial aspect of scuba diving communication, especially in situations where verbal communication is not possible or practical, such as when divers are underwater. Here are some reasons why hand signals are important for diving:
Non-verbal communication: Hand signals allow divers to communicate with each other without the use of verbal communication. Since verbal communication is difficult underwater, divers use hand signals to convey important information such as the need to ascend, descend, or communicate a specific problem.
Safety: Hand signals are essential for ensuring diver safety. For example, the "OK" sign indicates that the diver is doing well, while the "out of air" sign lets other divers know that the diver is running low on air and needs assistance.
Clear communication: Hand signals provide clear communication and reduce the chance of misunderstandings. Since the signals are standardized and taught in diving courses, divers can easily understand and respond to them.
Consistency: Hand signals are consistent across the diving community, regardless of language or cultural differences. This ensures that divers can communicate effectively with each other, regardless of where they come from or what language they speak.
We believe that with the Learn 2 Dive app we are going to streamline and simplify this tedious learning process.
