Why learning the alphabet?
If you are serious about learning the Amharic language, learning the alphabet will help you in many ways:
Research has shown that the brain learns faster when you fully immerse in a language instead of always translating into your own language and alphabet.
The transliterations of Amharic words into Latin script can be very confusing and there's a high danger you would learn a wrong pronunciation. Reading a word directly in Fidel alphabet, your brain will have no doubt about the right pronunciation.
Once you master the script you will learn faster the vocabulary. Imagine you walk around Addis Ababa and you can read the billboards. Like this you learn new words every day.
Your brain gets wonderful training that will prevent diseases such as dementia or Alzheimer.
