According to WJZ on October 24, 2021, A woman was found dead on North Franklintown and Winans Way with multiple gunshot wounds at the scene of a car fire, Baltimore police said. Officers had been called to the scene, where they found firefighters putting out the flames, police said. Once the fire was out, a woman's body was found inside the vehicle. Her death was ruled a homicide after authorities determined she had been shot multiple times.
Then on November 28, 2021 WBFF reported that a convicted murderer is on the run. Jermaine Jeter, 39, of Baltimore was wanted for murder and arson.This time he’s accused of killing his girlfriend, then setting fire to her car in southwest Baltimore October 24, 2021. On November 30 , WBFF reported that three days after appearing on Maryland’s Most Wanted, a convicted murderer accused in the shooting death of his girlfriend in Baltimore last month has been captured.
However, as reported by Baltimore Witness on April 21, 2023, Jermaine Jeter, accused of fatally shooting Leandrea Sampson and burning her body inside a car was found not guilty on April 20 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lawrence Fletcher-Hill.
