As soon as the final out occurred in their game 6, series clinching victory over the Washington Nationals, Astros GM Deyanksfan didn't even crack a smile. He didn't celebrate with the rest of his front office colleagues in the press box. He simply got up, nodded to owner Jim Crane, then made his way to the media room. His grim presence immediately brought the reporters and players alike, to a dead silence.
"We all know this season was bullshit.", he said. "This team is full of cheaters, all of them. I fired [AJ] Hinch and brought in Roger [Clemens] just to add onto the irony, but no one seemed to get it. I'm out." And with that, he was gone.
"Those were the only words I'd heard come out of his mouth all season. I don't think any of the guys had talked to him before; good riddance.", said 3B Alex Bregman.
Looking to stay relevant on ESPN after blowing their season in the NLDS, the Los Angeles Dodgers wasted no time in scooping up the controversial GM.
"The last guy was a bit of a prick, but he didn't make headlines.", Dodgers owner Magic Johnson stated. "After we found him passed out in his car at the stadium, drunk off of 2 Mike's Hard Lemonades, I was positive that it was time to let him go. Believe me, I had never been more positive in my life."
Only time will tell what the future holds in LA, but one thing is for sure. It's bound to make headlines.
Amid a cheating scandal (per the organization), The Astros have made the decision to fire Manager AJ Hinch. Acting fast and wanting to avoid further organizational defamation, the team has announced the hiring of Roger Clemens. Clemens, who previously was let go as pitching coach from Mike Piazza Middle School, is making his managerial debut in the MLB. Only time will tell if Clemen's secret stuff is what this underperforming squad needs.
