After spending 16 years as a building principal, I have learned from some of the best and brightest, studied at some of the most amazing schools, and discovered valuable lessons that will help you carve your path into the world of leadership! I was not planning on jumping into the world of leadership. I planned to finish my bachelor's degree and work as a classroom teacher for the rest of my career. Now, don't get me wrong, I knew I had leadership skills...just like many leaders realize, but I was not sure that I wanted to have the role and responsibilities of the leader while still making my family a priority. But, like most leaders, someone saw these skills in me and encouraged (like highly suggested) that I go back to school and move into a leadership role. I was nervous, but also found the opportunity very exciting! And the rest is history! In this course, I will share with you my journey to leadership, what made me really sure this was for me, and important skills you will need to build to become the leader you were meant to be! I will also teach you to understand that leadership is a calling, not a job, and share the real life, raw story, of what it takes to be a leader. Each month you will receive valuable online information, one live group coaching session, and reflection activities that will help you start your journey. I can assure you, if you were meant to lead, have the passion to make a difference in the world, and have an open mind to committing to all it takes to be one of the greats, I can get you there! With almost 30 years molding futures in public education, both as a teacher and campus principal, I've dedicated my career to being a catalyst for positive change. My extensive experience is not just rooted in the classrooms or administrative offices; it extends to my role as a Success Coach and Educational Consultant, underpinned by my certification in Leadership Development through Cheri Dixon Consulting.
Guiding my philosophy is a deep-seated commitment to enabling both struggling schools and burgeoning small businesses to hone their leadership prowess. My approach is hands-on, aiming to unlock the inherent potential within each individual and organization I encounter. My passion for nurturing growth and confidence in others spills into every facet of my life, from being a proud mother to an inspiring author. I share the wisdom gleaned from my journey in my co-authored work, "Unleash Her," and continue to spotlight the triumphs of extraordinary women on my talk show, "Confident, Courageous and Clear with Cheri."
