2025-2026 PTO Meeting Dates
Our PTO meetings are held the second Monday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Leaders Heights Elementary Cafeteria. Please join us to help plan a wonderful school year for our children.

January 12, 2026
Attendance: Kathy Bowser, Amanda Axe, Lindsey Strine, Megan Anderson, Cesar Nina, Ashley Wilson, Jessica Herbst, Jessica Barkdoll, Chris Martin, Amanda Cario, Liz Rodriguez, Loren Gordon, and Megan Shifflett.
1. Welcome: Kathy Bowser
Meeting called to order at 7:01 p.m.
2. Secretary’s Report: Megan Anderson
Motion to approve Secretary’s report made. Approved by Lindsey Strine, seconded by Amanda Cario.
3. Treasurer’s Report: Lindsey Strine
Account Balance: $30,423.64
Income: Final Dance A Thon $7,574.63. FNO Moe’s and Panera checks came in for $225.00. Holiday Shop cash and check income was $1,245.75 but this was not our net profit, we had to write a check back to Kids Kastle.
Expenses: Under CARES Reward some Dance a Thon decorations and snacks for $384.63. Fundraiser expenses for Dance a Thon prizes and chicken costume for $237.20. Under Hospitality we did a staff Christmas gift totaling $163.00 Under miscellaneous expenses PTO utility cart. Laundry basket with supplies purchased and sent home for backpack program. Book fair expense. Holiday Shop had to pay $771.00 back to Kids Kastle and costs for hot cocoa, cookies, and decorations, Motion to approve Treasurer’s report made by Loren Gordon and seconded by Amanda Cario.
4. Principal/Staff Report: Chris Martin/Megan Schifflett
Megan Schifflett (First Grade Teacher) - Thank you for Christmas Gift.
Lots of trainings going on at the moment. Preparing to host English Language Learners program at LHE.
As needed conferences coming up the end of this week.
In the middle of CARES week. CARES shirts are being rebranded. Wear blue if you don’t have one.
5. Discussion Items: Kathy Bowser
No School Jan. 16th - PT Conferences (as needed) - Goldfish Bar for Teachers
No School Jan. 19th - MLK Day
Skate Night - Wednesday, February 18th, 2026, 6-8 pm (YTE families invited)
Family Fun Night at DAMS on March 20, 2026, 6-8 pm. Amanda Axe asked for feedback re: bounce houses. Feedback: Obstacle course bounce house was good, more basketballs and hula hoops again this year. Craft again this year. YTE families invited but not really promoting it due to limited size.
Mr. Martin advised he will not need the $600.00 the PTO budgeted this year for poster printer supplies. A motion could be made to re-allocate the poster printer line item for this year that we could use for a second bounce house if needed.
Bylaw 4.02 Addendum for this year - Time served on York Township PTO executive board during 25-26 school year shall meet requirements and qualifications to serve on the LHE executive board for 26-27 year. Motion for this to be voted on next month.
6. Committee Reports:
Holiday Shop Recap (Kathy Bowser) - Overall people felt it went well. Agreed pricing seemed higher this year. Wifi issues with credit card, maybe next year use District laptop or work with IT to test out credit card transaction beforehand. Profit using Believe Kids last year was 40%, this year with Kids Kastle only 20% profit.
FNO - Pastanito: January 22, 2026 only between 6 and 8 pm. No code of flyer needed. We get money for any purchases made between that time period.
Spirit Wear - Link in February newsletter. Liz Rodriguez will submit designs this week.
Catpack Program - Super Bowl Food Drive week of February 2nd - 6th
May Day - May 8, 2026 from 5 pm to 8 pm. Need help with crafts, bingo, etc. Spry church volunteers helped in the past. Working with 3 Monkeys this year. Food trucks.
Silent Auction (Lindsey Strine & Ashley Wilson) - Lindsey got the website set up. Letters are being sent out to businesses.
Teacher Appreciation Week - Committee (Amanda Cario, Loren Gordon, Megan Anderson) to organize breakfast, lunch, and game/activity with prizes for teachers.
Art Show - Do we have a date? Any parent help needed? Mr. Martin will look into details.
7. Misc. Discussion Items:
a. End of 2nd Trimester Reward? March 5th is end of this trimester. Bounce House?
First Trimester reward was Dance A Thon. Can use re-allocated poster printer money.
b. Author visit from Jeanne Moran with her book “Mikey and the Swamp Monster” on March
5th. Flyer will come home. $1 for every book sold comes back to PTO.

Section 4.02. Qualification and Requirements.
Each Executive Committee member shall be a natural person of full age and in good standing with membership. To be eligible for the President or Co-Presidents position, a person must have served on the executive committee for at least one term. Clearances must be on file with the district and available for review by the Executive Committee.
**Time served on the York Township PTO executive board during the 25-26 school year shall meet the requirements and qualifications to serve on the LHE executive board for the 26-27 school year.**
