The London Deaf Rainbow Club, launched in early 2023, is based in London and the South East of England. Our mission is to create a safe and inclusive space for the Deaf and hearing-impaired LGBTQ+ community. We meet every 3rd Friday of the month from 5pm to 8pm. Our gatherings are open to Deaf, hard of hearing, cochlear implant users, Deafblind individuals, CODA/DP, hearing signers, and BSL/SSE/ISL users.
Our goal is to break down barriers and promote awareness, inclusion, diversity, equality, and accessibility. Many hearing-impaired individuals have experienced isolation, loneliness, stigma, social exclusion, and discrimination due to communication barriers. We aim to provide support and advice to those in need, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
The London Deaf Rainbow Club is thrilled to share some fantastic news with you! The LGBT+ Futures: Equity Fund has approved our application, and we will be awarded the necessary funds to continue providing a safe and welcoming space for deaf LGBTQ+ individuals.
This generous funding will support us in maintaining our beloved community space for the next 24 months and aid us in creating new promotional materials. We are incredibly grateful to be recognised as part of the Equity Fund's organisational spotlights, which highlight the incredible work performed by a strong and diverse group of specialist, targeted, and intersectional LGBT+ organisations.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund and LGBTQ+ Consortium for supporting this opportunity. With this funding, we can further strengthen our mission and our community.
Our venue locates at London LGBTQ+ Community Centre, 60-62 Hopton Street, London, SE1 9JH. Next to London Blackfriars Station.
