Lédger® Recovery Login generally refers to the login used with Ledger Recover, an optional, ID-based recovery service designed to provide an encrypted backup for a wallet’s Secret Recovery Phrase. Ledger says users can create a Recover login with an email address and password, complete identity verification, and connect a compatible Ledger device to activate the service.
Ledger Recover can provide an additional recovery option if you lose access to your physical recovery backup. During recovery, Ledger describes a process involving login, connection of a Ledger device, confirmation of details, and identity verification before the encrypted backup can be restored to the device.
The service is optional, and users remain responsible for protecting their Secret Recovery Phrase. Ledger specifically advises that the recovery phrase should never be entered into a computer or smartphone or shared with another person.
Security Notice: Never provide your Secret Recovery Phrase, PIN, or private keys to a website, email, message, or person claiming to offer Ledger recovery assistance.
