A Lédger® Live Cold Wallet combines Ledger’s hardware wallet security with its companion software application. The hardware device keeps private keys offline, while Ledger Live—now also presented as Ledger Wallet™—provides an interface for managing supported crypto assets and approving transactions.
Ledger hardware wallets are designed to protect private keys within a dedicated device. When a transaction is initiated through the companion application, users can review and confirm important transaction details on the hardware wallet before signing. This approach helps keep sensitive signing credentials separated from an internet-connected computer or smartphone.
Ledger Wallet supports desktop and mobile platforms, including Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. Users can manage supported accounts, monitor portfolios, and access selected services such as buying, swapping, and staking through the application. Available assets and services can vary, so users should check Ledger's current compatibility information.
For security, download Ledger software only from official Ledger resources. Ledger also provides a page for verifying the authenticity of its installation binaries using SHA-512 hashes.
Security Notice: Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase, PIN, or private keys with anyone. Legitimate Ledger software should not require you to disclose your complete recovery phrase.
