The Lédger® Live QR Code feature can be used in certain Ledger Wallet workflows, including receiving crypto or connecting compatible services. Ledger explains that its wallet application, formerly known as Ledger Live, can display a receiving address and corresponding QR code for supported assets.
When receiving cryptocurrency, users should carefully verify the displayed wallet address before sending funds. A QR code represents information such as a public receiving address, but it should not be confused with a Secret Recovery Phrase or private key.
Ledger has transitioned the Ledger Live experience toward Ledger Wallet™. The current application is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android through Ledger's official download resources.
QR codes can also appear in Web3 connection workflows. For example, Ledger's WalletConnect documentation describes scanning a dApp's QR code with the mobile application to establish a connection.
Security Notice: Never scan unknown QR codes or enter your Secret Recovery Phrase into a website. Always verify transaction details and wallet addresses before approving a transaction on your Ledger device.
