Timeline

1. When will this start?

   1. You can begin using Gmail on June 23, 2020

2. When will my email be migrated?

   1. Migration will begin on June 23, 2020 but due to the large number of messages the migration could take several days to complete.

3. When will FirstClass no longer be available?

   1. You will be able to access your FirstClass email and Calendar until October 31, 2020 However, you will not be able to send/receive email or add/remove calendar appointments after June 23, 2020

Calendar

1. How do I see my building calendar?

   1. The building calendars are maintained by a staff member in your building. That person will give you access to view them. Once that is done they will appear in your Google Calendar. For more information please visit our Calendar Support Page.

2. How do I move my events from FirstClass to Google?

   1. The easiest way to move appointments is to simply add the appointment from FirstClass to Google. There is no easy way to import calendar appointments. Please visit our Calendar Support page for assistance.

3. How do I share a calendar (or keep appointments private)

   1. For questions about calendar use, sharing, and settings please visit our Calendar Support Page.

Gmail

1. How do I add an attachment to email?

2. Will my email address change?

   1. No. You will still use xxxxxxx@liverpool.k12.ny.us

3. How do I send a secure email?

4. How do I add a signature?

   1. To add a signature to your Gmail account click this link for specific instructions.

5. Can I be notified when I have an email?

   1. Yes, please visit our Gmail support page for instructions.

6. Can I request a return receipt? Do I know they read my email?

   1. Yes, please visit our Gmail support page for instructions. Yes you will be able to know if email is read.

7. How do I personalize my email fonts and such?

   1. Yes, please visit our Gmail support page for instructions.

8. How do I send email securely using Gmail?

   1. Please view our Secure Messages page for assistance.

9. Can I unsend an email?

   1. Yes, please click this link for instructions.

10. How do I access Gmail from home or other locations?

    1. Log into your school Google account. In the top right hand corner there are three rows of three dots. Click that and click Gmail. You can also go to mail.google.com but you MUST be logged into your school account.

11. Can I get Gmail on my phone?

    1. Yes, in the app store download the Gmail app and follow the instructions for adding your account.

12. How can I move my personal contacts and group mailing lists to Gmail?

    1. Click this link for specific instructions.

13. Can I have a sound play when I get a new email?

    1. No, Gmail does not support that feature.

Conferences

1. Where are conferences now?

   1. Conferences are not located in shared files or are mailing lists. To locate all public conferences visit your G-Drive, click shared drives, click LCSD Drive, then click on any of the folders to view the contents. All other conferences are now email lists or were determined to be outdated and/or not needed.

2. What about Classifieds?!?!

   1. Classifieds are no longer available in district email.

3. With Classifieds no longer available what options are there for getting buying/selling items?

   1. Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and Ebay are several popular sites for buying and selling.

G Drive

1. How do I save files in Drive securely?

   1. To save files securely please visit our Secure G Drive page.

2. Can I share files with parents and others outside Liverpool?

   1. Absolutely! Just be aware that if the files contain Personal Identifiable Information (PII) they must be sent securely. Please see out Secure G-Drive page for instructions.

3. Are files uploaded already encrypted?

   1. No. Files are not automatically encrypted. Please see instructions on the Secure G-Drive page.

4. Can I encrypt Office files?

   1. Not directly. Office files must first be converted to Google files and then encrypted.
