We aim to explore new materials, beyond cuprates, where loop currents may be relevant. The interesting questions are to see how the various phenomena in these materials interplay, whether or not loop currents are helpful in formulating a unified theory. Mn3Si2Te6 is a key material in this regard.
Our working group has the following goals:
- Identify issues and opportunities for research on loop currents beyond cuprates. Determine any new frameworks or terminology (molecular-orbital magnetism, etc) that would be helpful for the wider community in distinguishing new research from the original cuprates-focused ideas.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration on research and formulating new research directions.
