Lyuba Chumakova
I am an applied mathematician working at the Maxwell Institute of the Mathematical Sciences, University of Edinburgh, School of Mathematics, where I have been based starting 2013. I am part of the Applied and Computational Mathematics theme and am supported by the RSE and the Scottish Government personal research fellowship.
I received my education in the Novosibirsk State University, Russia, and then University of Wiconsin-Madison in the interdisciplinary Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physics (AMEP) programme. I got my PhD at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, NYU, at the Center for Atmosphere Ocean Sciences under the supervision of Esteban Tabak. I was then an Instructor of Applied Mathematics and NSF postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Mathematics at MIT, working with Ruben R. Rosales on radiating waves in the atmosphere.
For my current work, please see the Research and the Publications sections.
