2023-2024 Student Art Exhibition 

About the Exhibit

The exhibition is a proud tradition of the Visual and Media Arts department at LBCC, showcasing over 180 artworks created by our top students. These pieces have been meticulously selected by our faculty to highlight the finest work produced in our classrooms over the academic year. 

• Over 180 artworks were on display in ceramics, jewelry and metal smithing, painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and digital art. 

• Works selected by LBCC Visual and Media Arts faculty

• Introduction of the first-ever Student Art Award 

• The prize was juried by curators Andres Payan of the Craft Contemporary and Paul Loya of the Long Beach Museum of Art, and others. 

• $2,000 in prizes were awarded to: 

First Prize of $1,000 to Elaine Lao 

Seconde Prize of $600 to Francisco Baldonado 

Third Prize of $400 to Arianna Easterday

The award ceremony and closing reception took place on Sat., June 1, 2024 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. The event also include a jewelry and ceramic sale.
