proposal presentation
After getting feedback from my peers on this work, i am happy with the level of detail in each slide, however i think that it could be more visually represented, rather than blocks of text in some areas. I would like to keep this in mind later on, to keep my reflections and explanations interesting and on topic. I will do this by using more photos and pictures, or even annotations to more clearly explain my thought processes.

Project title: creating a music video focusing on frame-by-frame animation and choreographed performance
rationale
The project I am most pleased with so far this year is the music video. I found that during this project I had the most creative freedom, as I didn’t necessarily have to keep to a narrative structure, and had more fun with props, costumes and performance. This also gave me more complex editing skills, like using the inverted effect and slow motion, which also led to me choosing to do a music video as my final project. I wanted to create something more abstract and artsy, so that I could be really creative without having to keep it ‘natural’ like in a short film or doc.
project concept
My objectives for this project are to learn more basic rules of shot composition and to apply them in my work, to learn about the DSLR cameras to shoot in slow motion, and to improve the detail of my pre production documents. I will achieve this through action research and testing to develop my practical skills, and looking back on previous storyboards to see what wasn’t helpful.
Issues that could come up with this idea are availability of projectors. I plan to book a classroom to film in, however some do not have projectors, so I may not be able to film what I want. Another issue could be sourcing the costume as dancewear is often quite expensive. However, my project is supported by my background and experience in dance, as I have some knowledge on choreography and what looks good on camera.
Ethical issues that I have considered are related to safety. The performer would ideally be wearing and dancing in pointe shoes. However, proper technique must be applied to ensure the safety of the performer and to prevent any injuries.
evaluation
I will reflect throughout this project using the reflective cycle. This will be helpful in thinking about what worked and what needs improvement later on in the project. I would like to reflect using written notes and analysis, as I find this easier to look back on and refer to after the fact.
