What is the best way to contact Miss. Powell?
The best way to contact me through email at yannipowell25@gmail.com between 3:00- 6:00 p.m. If no response, I will get back within the very next morning. There is also a information tab that shows the best time and several ways to contact me.
How will I know if my child is performing academically in class?
I access students through various methods such as tests, quizzes, and class participation. Also I can provide specific feedback on strengths and areas for improvement.
What can I do at home to support my child's learning?
By encouraging a routine, providing a quiet area, and engaging in reading together. Discussing classroom topics can reinforce their learning.
What is the homework policy in your classroom?
Homework is given to reinforce skills learned in class. It's typically assigned 2-3 times a week and is meant to take about 30 minutes to complete.
How do you differentiate instruction for students with varying needs?
I use a variety of teaching strategies and materials to different learning styles. This includes group work, hands-on activities, and individual assignments.
How can I stay informed about my child's progress?

I take any reports of bullying seriously and address them immediately. I encourage open communication and provide strategies for conflict resolution among students.
Are there any special projects or events coming up?
Sure! We are having a science fair next month and a parent night scheduled for later this semester. I will be sending home information about both as we get closer. Also, there is a School information tab under School Announcements where you can find upcoming events as well.
Are Parents allowed to send gifts or treats for holidays/birthdays?
Yes. Parents are allowed to send treats on birthdays or holidays, but only if the items are store bought and contains no openings.
Are there any extra practice worksheets/websites to help my child?
Yes. Extra homework practice websites can be found under the Student information tab under Websites. Under Student Activities, Drills and Practice can be found. You can also find Drill and Practices I have created for this weeks assignments.
Are there opportunities for my child to participate in extracurricular activities or enrichment programs?
We have an afternoon school art club and chess club. Information about registration is on the School Website.
If my child is struggling with a specific challenge, what support can the school provide?
