Welcome!
I’m Lauren E. Aydinliyim, JD, PhD, a scholar at the intersection of strategic human capital management, business ethics, and law. My research explores how legal and ethical factors shape firm strategy, particularly in areas like employee mobility, non-compete agreements, and HR policies. My work has been published or is forthcoming in leading Financial Times 50 (FT50) journals such as the Journal of Management, Human Resource Management, and the Journal of Business Ethics. I have been featured in media outlets such as NPR, HR Brew, and Business Insider.
I’m passionate about teaching and mentoring students, helping them develop critical thinking, strategic decision-making, and ethical leadership skills. I’ve taught courses in business strategy and business ethics at the undergraduate and MBA levels, using real-world cases, current events, and interactive discussions to bridge theory and practice. In my courses, I challenge students to analyze complex business problems, consider diverse perspectives, and apply strategic frameworks to real-world scenarios.
Beyond the classroom, I serve as a Faculty Mentor for the Midtown Manhattan (Field Center) Small Business Development Center (SBDC), where I provide guidance to entrepreneurs and small business owners on strategic decision-making, HR best practices, and resolving business challenges.
