Our recent masonry project focused on setting out bonding laying of blocks and bricks, using of tools and interpretation of the drawings. Built in the duration about a week, from 21st June to 4th July 2024 the structure's intricate brickwork and a previous project work which had deteriorated over time due to rain water and neglect. Our team embarked on a comprehensive restoration effort that included careful cleaning, repointing of mortar joints, and replacement of damaged bricks and stones with historically accurate materials sourced locally.
The project began with a detailed assessment of the facade's condition, followed by strategic planning to ensure the preservation of original architectural elements while enhancing structural integrity. trainee masons employed traditional techniques alongside modern tools to meticulously clean decades of grime and carefully remove deteriorated mortar. Special attention was given to matching the color and texture of replacement materials to seamlessly blend with the existing facade, ensuring a harmonious restoration that honors the building's rich heritage.
Throughout the restoration process, our team maintained open communication with our trainer for instructions and adhered to strict timelines to minimize disruption to the surrounding community. The completed project not only revitalized the building's exterior but also contributed to the preservation of materials for the future trainees enrolling in different intakes. This masonry restoration stands as a testament to our commitment to craftsmanship and conservation, ensuring that future generations can continue to appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of our dedicated efforts.
