If you want best long battery life bluetooth headphones for studying in an over-ear form that lets you ignore the world for hours, choose Lavales 6.0; if you need headphones for studying that are ultra-lightweight, sporty, and offer advanced spatial audio with deep noise cancellation, choose XIAOMI REDMI Buds 8.
• Lavales 6.0: Delivers massive 90-hour playtime and plush over-ear comfort for marathon sessions, but its bulkier design makes it less ideal for active movement or compact storage.
• XIAOMI REDMI Buds 8: Offers incredible portability with IP54 sweat resistance and adaptive ANC up to 55dB, though the 35-hour total battery life is significantly shorter than the competitor's.
• The Pick: Choose Lavales for long, stationary study blocks; pick XIAOMI for mobile focus, commuting, or gym-study hybrids.
The Lavales 6.0 is engineered specifically for the person who needs to disappear into their work or study session for extended periods without distraction. Its primary strength lies in the sheer endurance of the battery. With an average life of 80 hours on a single charge and a total capability reaching 90 hours when using the wired option, this headset is built to survive multi-day cramming sessions or week-long remote work sprints without ever needing a power outlet. The Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity ensures a stable link across a 50-foot range, which means you can wander around your apartment or office without the audio cutting out.
Comfort is another pillar of this device's design. The ear cups are constructed from soft leather and foam, creating a seal that feels gentle against your ears even after hours of wear. This "always-on soft" aesthetic suggests a product designed for static environments like a library, a home office, or a dorm room where you sit in one spot. The 40-millimeter dynamic drivers paired with LDAC Hi-Res Audio support provide rich, detailed sound that helps mask background chatter effectively. The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is enabled by default, allowing you to toggle between off, transparency, and on modes with a simple button press, giving you control over how much of your surroundings you hear while maintaining focus.

However, this device has clear trade-offs that define who should skip it. Because it is an over-ear model, it is not designed for physical activity. You cannot run or lift weights while wearing them without worrying about them slipping or getting sweaty inside the ear cups. Furthermore, the lack of an explicit water resistance rating means you must keep them away from rain or heavy sweat. If your study routine involves moving between coffee shops, walking to class, or working out while listening to lectures, the Lavales 6.0 is likely too cumbersome and fragile for that lifestyle. It is a stationary powerhouse, not a mobile companion.
The XIAOMI REDMI Buds 8 targets the modern student or professional who lives on the go. These earbuds are defined by their featherlight build, weighing only about 5.3 grams each, which makes them virtually unnoticeable during long wear. They are perfect for someone who needs to switch contexts rapidly—moving from a quiet library desk to a busy campus walkway or a workout session without missing a beat. The inclusion of an IP54 rating confirms they can handle dust, sweat, and light splashes, making them durable enough for any environment where humidity or accidental spills might occur.
Audio performance here is sophisticated, leveraging a co-axial driver system with an 11mm titanium-coated dynamic driver and dual ceramic drivers. This setup supports Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification and LDAC, ensuring high-fidelity sound quality. A standout feature for immersive learning or entertainment is the Full-dimensional Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking, which places sound around you to create a more engaging experience. The Adaptive Noise Cancelling is particularly aggressive, capable of reducing ambient noise up to 55dB across 20 different levels. This means whether you are on a noisy train, in a crowded cafe, or trying to block out a roommate, the buds automatically adjust to give you a silent bubble.
The trade-off for this mobility and advanced tech is the battery life. While the charging case provides a total of 35 hours of playback, the earbuds themselves only last about 8.5 hours per charge. You will need to return to the case more frequently than you would with the Lavales 6.0. Additionally, the touch controls require a certain level of dexterity and care; unlike the physical buttons on the over-ear model, accidental touches can sometimes trigger commands. If you prioritize absolute silence and minimal maintenance over battery longevity, these are excellent, but if you need a device that lasts for days without recharging, you may find yourself reaching for the charger more often than you'd like.
• Best for battery life → Lavales 6.0: With up to 90 hours of total playtime, it is unmatched for those who hate carrying chargers or forget to charge devices daily.
• Best for active use → XIAOMI REDMI Buds 8: The IP54 rating and lightweight design make them the only choice for workouts, running, or travel in variable weather.
• Best for comfort during long sessions → Lavales 6.0: The over-ear design with soft leather and foam cushions prevents ear fatigue better than most in-ear options.
• Best for noise isolation → XIAOMI REDMI Buds 8: The 55dB adaptive ANC and tight in-ear fit create a deeper seal against external noise in chaotic environments.
• Best for audio immersion → XIAOMI REDMI Buds 8: Features like Dolby Atmos and spatial audio with head tracking offer a more cinematic listening experience.
• Best for durability in harsh conditions → XIAOMI REDMI Buds 8: The plastic enclosure and IP54 rating handle sweat and dust far better than the leather/foam construction of the Lavales.
• Best for ease of control → Lavales 6.0: Physical buttons are more reliable and easier to operate than touch surfaces, especially when wearing gloves or in cold weather.
• Best for portability → XIAOMI REDMI Buds 8: Their small size fits easily in any pocket, whereas the Lavales requires a pouch or bag.
For the specific goal of studying, I would personally buy the Lavales 6.0. When you are deep in a study session, the ability to put on headphones and not think about them for three or four days straight is invaluable. The over-ear design creates a natural barrier against distractions that allows for sustained concentration, and the plush ear cups mean my ears won't ache during a late-night review. While the XIAOMI buds are fantastic for mobility, the Lavales 6.0 offers the stability and endurance required for serious academic work. However, if your study style involves moving around constantly or you need a backup pair for the gym, the XIAOMI REDMI Buds 8 are the superior flexible option.
The Lavales 6.0 wins decisively with up to 90 hours of total playtime compared to the XIAOMI REDMI Buds 8's 35 hours. If you rarely charge your gear, the Lavales is the practical choice.
Both models feature Active Noise Cancellation, but the XIAOMI REDMI Buds 8 offers higher depth at 55dB and a tighter seal due to its in-ear design, potentially offering better isolation in very loud environments.
Only the XIAOMI REDMI Buds 8 are suitable for workouts, as they carry an IP54 rating for sweat and water resistance. The Lavales 6.0 lacks this protection and could be damaged by moisture.
Yes, both devices support customization via apps. The Lavales 6.0 allows for custom EQ and ANC settings through its application, while the XIAOMI buds integrate with HyperOS Connect for smart features and audio adjustments.
