As the magazine's first Editor at Large, I aimed to provide unique and insightful content that would engage readers and enhance the magazine's reputation. I collaborated with all directors to problem solve, meet deadlines, and finalize all content. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I stepped in as interim Marketing Director to maintain projects and assist team members with their work. I maintained clear communication and held regular meetings with the Editor in Chief and Academic Advisor to determine the timeline of each project. As a result, we successfully launched our A/W issue.
As Editor-in-Chief, I was leading my final issue of the magazine, overseeing all aspects of production; including editorial, design, and team coordination. I held regular check-ins with each team member to ensure they had the support and resources needed to meet deadlines. I maintained clear communication to keep everyone aligned, stepped in to assist with editorial tasks as needed, and helped troubleshoot issues as they arose. As a result, we successfully launched our print issue and delivered it on time, meeting our deadlines and maintaining the high quality of the magazine.

For the A/W '24 print issue, I wrote an article focused on Floriography and how the language of flowers was used to communicate during the Victorian era. I recognized the decline in awareness of floriography and aimed to educate readers about its historical significance and potential for modern application. My goal was to inspire a renewed appreciation for this art form, encouraging individuals to incorporate symbolic meanings into their floral selections and enrich their personal expressions and communications. I conducted extensive research and expert interviews that offered valuable perspectives on the historical context and contemporary relevance of floriography. As a result, I successfully illuminated the nuanced language of flowers, prompting readers to consider the deeper meanings behind their floral choices. By bridging historical context with modern applications, I contributed to a growing interest in floriography, encouraging a more intentional and expressive use of flowers in personal and professional settings.
For the S/S '24 print issue, I wrote an in-depth article exploring the dynamics of interracial relationships in modern culture, a topic that felt particularly relevant to me as someone in an interracial relationship. My goal was to address the societal stereotypes that interracial couples often face and offer insights into how individuals can better understand their partners from different cultural backgrounds. This involved researching, interviewing three couples and an interracial couples counselor, and providing a nuanced perspective. I used journalistic techniques to gather a variety of perspectives, and I carefully copyedited my article, going through multiple drafts to ensure clarity and accuracy. As a result, I successfully produced a meaningful and impactful article that tackled a complex and sensitive topic, offering both personal and professional insights. The piece resonated with readers and sparked discussions on the cultural dynamics of interracial relationships.
For the A/W '23 print issue, I wrote an article exploring the concept of sentimentality, focusing on how the human brain stores memories and attaches them to inanimate objects. My goal was to examine why certain objects hold deep personal value and what that connection says about our emotional lives and memories. I conducted research on the neuroscience of memory, interviewed individuals about their sentimental objects, and spoke with counselors to gain a deeper understanding. I then used journalistic techniques to present these insights and incorporated my perspective on the topic. I also carefully copyedited the article, going through multiple drafts to ensure accuracy and clarity. The result was a well-researched and meaningful article that explored the emotional and psychological connections we form with objects, shedding light on the role of memory in our lives. The piece resonated with readers and contributed a thoughtful perspective to the print issue.
For the S/S '23 print issue, I wrote an article regarding my experience studying French silk and the significance of silk looms in Lyon, France. I focused on the history of the industry and the importance of Jacques Mattelon's workshop as he continued traditional weaving. I conducted research, interviewed several fabric experts, and included my personal details from touring Lyon's Silk District. I used journalistic techniques to present these insights and copyedited the article, going through multiple drafts to ensure accuracy. As a result, I produced a meaningful article that not only delved into the historical significance of the silk industry in Lyon but also highlighted Mattelon’s role in preserving this tradition. The piece provided a thoughtful perspective on a lesser-known aspect of the fashion industry and contributed to our readers' understanding of textile history.
