About
Thank you for visiting my website!
I am an associate professor at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University. Trained in applied microeconomics, I conduct quantitative research in the areas of social policy, health policy, and consumer protection policy. My goal is to inform the development of government policies that improve the material conditions and safety of children and families.
My work spans several topical areas, including family tax credits, children's mental health, traffic safety and drunk driving, and more recently, child care. I have published my work in academic journals such as the Journal of Human Resources, Health Economics and the American Journal of Health Economics; and my studies have won best-paper awards in the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management and the Canadian Journal of Economics. I have also worked with states and provinces on applied research projects on the Universal Basic Income, and child care policy.
