The night that Morgan “dies,” she’s talking about books with her friend.
Jenna, Morgan’s friend since middle school, convinces Morgan to check out her favorite book series, but Morgan’s not a fan of the tropes and overbearing love interest, Eron. While debating the merits of the books, the girls get into a car accident, and when they wake, it doesn’t take long to realize that they’re actually inside the book series: ACOFAF. Morgan doesn’t want to believe it, but then Eron shows up and declares that Morgan is his “mate.”
Now, the entire series’s plot has been thrown out of whack, and Morgan is desperate to find a way back home for both of them. All the while, Jenna wants to stay, testing a lengthy friendship that was already chafing.
As Morgan enlists Eron’s help to return to the real world, they grow close—to the point that Morgan begins to question: is her world real, or was ACOFAF the real one all along?
Pairing the parody elements from Cassandra Gannon’s “Not Another Vampire Book” while embracing popular tropes from “A Court of Thorns and Roses” by Sarah J. Maas, Trapped in ACOFAF is a classic isekai that is perfect for fans and critics of the “romantasy” genre.
