Lauren Poplaski

Class of 2023

My name is Lauren Poplaski and I have been playing field hockey for seven years. I train year round and have played for Central Penn Field Hockey Club for three years. If I am not on the field I am playing softball, snowboarding, or spending time with family and friends. I knew that field hockey was my passion the first time I picked up a stick, and I have dedicated an immense amount of time improving my skills and game play. Being a sedulous player and having an open mind to constructive criticism has helped me improve overall as a person and a hockey player. As my coach says I have a “hockey heart” and consistently work to enhance my abilities. I am currently taking two honors classes and have been a distinguished honor roll student since 6th grade. Along with having a 4.0 gpa, I am involved in numerous school clubs including class council, key club, and I am a committee member for Minithon. Additionally I have been an assistant coach to the U9 Camp Hill Field Hockey Club. This gives me the opportunity to give back to the program that introduced me to field hockey and inspire girls to get involved in this incredible sport. These groups have taught me to be a leader and a hard working teammate. I bring an enthusiastic and optimistic energy to the field that motivates other teammates and myself. With that, my capability to encourage and work alongside others is important in field hockey as well as everyday life and this year I had the honor of being a varsity player as a forward for Camp Hill High School. I have played every position on the field, however I currently play on the forward line and occasionally midfield. I hope to play field hockey throughout my future academic years and would like to possibly undertake neuroscience or psychology as my major. I am searching for a college that is the perfect fit for both my academic and field hockey goals.
