Photography has been a constant presence in my life since I was young. I was lucky enough to receive the photo bug from my dad, who always had a camera in hand to capture family memories. I've always been fond of photography but as I grew older, I began to appreciate the art behind it. With the help of my dad, I was taught how to shoot manually and to work a camera on my own.
My passion for photography continued to blossom as I entered high school and joined the photography class. My teacher was amazed by my level of knowledge and ability to create stunning images. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase my work by submitting two photos to the county fair student showcase. Competing against hundreds of high schoolers' photos, I was overjoyed to receive several awards, including Best in Class and Best of Show.
That summer, I decided to take my photography skills to the next level by reaching out to a college/professional sports blog to inquire about a position as a sports photographer. To my surprise, I received the opportunity to shoot D1 college football games. This was a thrilling experience that taught me the importance of perseverance and taking risks to pursue my passions.
I currently attend Colorado State University as a full-time student and am pursuing a degree in Journalism and Media Communication, a focus in strategic communication and a minor in Business. I currently work for my school's newspaper The Collegian as a photographer. Through my work, I wish to create stories that connect others to the world around us, while continuing to capture the beauty and wonder of the world around us.
