CBS New York Internship

I have participated in an 8-week rotational internship program at CBS New York and CBS News, where my first two weeks were spent in Creative Services. In Creative Services, I had the chance to write and produce a "One Tank Away" segment with CBS Pittsburgh in partnership with ExploreAltoona.com. I also participated in CBS's campaign for Pride Month called "See Us" where I went on a shoot to SAGE Center Harlem to show what its like for LGBTQ+ elderly to be seen. I also had the chance to go on a shoot for New York Jets Media Day where I helped point out players, direct shots and interact with team personnel to shoot promos and intros for NFL on CBS this upcoming fall. Attached are some behind the scenes photos from my participation in the "See Us" Harlem shoot and the New York Jets shoot.

Newsroom Rotation
During my tenure in the newsroom I worked alongside and was mentored by CBS 2 Reporter/Sports Anchor Steve Overmyer, assisting on multiple shoots and shadowing. I had the opportunity to travel to the Museum of Jewish Heritage in Battery Park City for a preview of their new Holocaust exhibit with him. I also traveled with Mr. Overmyer to Paterson, NJ to honor a teacher who had won the National History Teacher of the Year award. I also had the privilege of helping out with multiple shoots throughout the tristate area with reporters, Lisa Rozner, Jenna DeAngelis and Dave Carlin. I also had the opportunity to assist on a "See Us" campaign shoot in Harlem with MMJ Jessi Mitchell. Throughout all of these shadowing opportunities, I learned how to be a field producer and further enhanced my script writing and producing skills. Below is where you will find the packages I assisted with as they aired on CBS at 12 P.M., 5 P.M. and 6 P.M. newscasts.
