LPS Assistant Coach Job Description
LPS typically hires about 5 Assistant Coaches each season. Assistant Coaches must be 16 years of age by June 1st of the swim team season, must obtain CPR certification, Life Guard certification, and are paid a salary. Pay is based on number of years of experience as an Assistant Coach. Assistant Coaches are to perform the following duties:
Coach swimmers in safe swimming techniques and stroke improvement during practice (including assisting Head Coaches with practice plans)
Actively coach swimmers at swim meets, morning practices (8:45am- 12:15pm) and a rotation of Wednesday evening practice (7:00pm-8:00pm)
Manage and direct Junior Coaches during practice
Attend weekly coaches meetings
Lead cheers during meets and have team spirit
Assist Head Coach and swim team with Uniform Fitting, Swim Team Kickoff, Parent Meeting, Ice Cream Socials, Blue and White Meet, Heat Sheets for meets, Fun Fridays, Pasta Pump Ups, Pancake Breakfast, Conference Prep, and other team social events.
LPS Junior Coach Job Description
As a Junior Coach of LPS you must be 15 years of age by June 1st of the current year and be a registered swim team member. This is a volunteer position. As Junior Coach you are to perform the following duties:
Attend mandatory Junior Coaches training session prior to start of the season
Show up to practice when scheduled
Be available to work at least 4/5 of the practices (9:00am-12:00pm)
Coaching swimmers in safe swimming techniques and stroke improvement.
Assist the Coaching staff and swim team with Uniform Fitting, Swim Team Kickoff, Parent Meeting, Ice Cream Socials, Blue and White Meet, Fun Fridays, Pasta Pump Ups, Pancake Breakfast, and other team social events
