Laura Waring

Biography

I am currently a Economics PhD candidate at UC Berkeley. My research relates to the intersection of macroeconomics and household finance, with a particular interest in consumer debt and behavioral frictions.  My primary advisors are Emi Nakamura, Yuriy Gorodnichenko, and Peter Maxted (Haas). Prior to attending UC Berkeley I worked as an economist at Frontier Economics in Melbourne, Australia.  I completed a Master of Economics, and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) at The University of Melbourne. 

Starting August 2025 I will be the Head GSI (Graduate Student Instructor) for the Department of Economics.
