Haber is an activist and a volunteer. She is a supporter of the Black Lives Matter and Women's March movements. During election seasons, Haber often volunteers at the Democratic National Convention. Haber hopes that her voluntary work will help her grandkids and future generations live in a better society.
Haber was born in 1966 in Bristol, Tennessee. She moved to North Palm Beach, Florida, in 1977 and attended Howell I Watkins Junior High School. From 1981 until 1984, she lived in Plantation, Fla., and attended South Plantation High School.

Haber graduated from high school in 1984 with a GED. She was well-known in her hometown for her lead role in Laura and the Crazy Heart Band. In 1993, the Sun-Sentinel published an article about her band.
Laura Haber is first and foremost a mother. She is the proud grandmother of two grandsons and prides herself on staying actively involved in their lives. Haber now resides in Conifer, Colorado, where she continues to specialize in insurance claims management.
