About

Doctor in Linguistics from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU, 2020).

Currently, I am a teacher at UPV/EHU (Dept. of Philology and History) in the Biscay Campus in Leioa and in the Araba Campus in Vitoria-Gasteiz, I am also a researcher at the HiTT Linguistics Group ('Hizkuntzalaritza Teorikorako Taldea', 'Basque Group on Theoretical Linguistics') in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Linguistic compositionality, the Interface between Syntax and Semantics and Psycholinguistics, in general terms, are some of my main fields of interest; as well as the expression of comparison in natural languages, relative clauses, quantification, coordination, focus and ellipsis, among other more specific topics.

I am also very attentive to the latest studies on Language and Gender, particularly regarding Gender-Fair Language, from the pespective of Feminist Philosophy, Psycholinguistics and Sociolinguistics. With Marina Ortega-Andrés, in 2018 we hosted an Interdisciplinary Workshop on Language and Gender so as to discuss several issues on the intersection of language and gender with experts from different fields.

My work focuses mainly on Spanish, Basque and English, but I am also concerned with finding patterns of cross-linguistic variation and with comparative syntax and semantics.

I am also a keen supporter of scientific outreach (Groc/GaiGram, Zientzia Astea, EuskarAbentura).

My PhD research was granted by the Predoctoral Scholarship Programme of the Basque Government.
