Under Construction: A hub for backing tracks, improvisation techniques, and things of that nature. Previous improv work has been archived, but it's a bit scattered throughout the site between Resources and the Music Catalog. This makes it more usable for everyday improvisation.
Since we'll be doing improv on the pieces now, you don't need to free improv. But if you want to for fun or to practice inflections (BEND, GLISS, TURNS, GRACE NOTES, VIBRATO) go for it! All that stuff makes you sound like a pro :)
90 bpm track | 120 bpm track | 160 bpm track | (Challenge tempo) 200 bpm track
Pick any or all of these to improv over!
Pick a template and go only up the scale, only down the scale, and both up and down the scale.
Make up your own templates and write them down. They should be general like motif > variation > variation2. Use jazz inflections within your improv! This will give your sound a fantastic style.
