Laura’s one-of-a-kind personality and passion for approaching things from a different perspective is the key to her success as a real estate professional and community leader. She has more than four decades of real estate experience and involvement in the Jackson community.
Laura’s experience and knowledge are unmatched, but what sets Laura apart from others is her creative vision and ability to communicate and empathize. She understands that people have individual needs, desires, goals, and ideas. By concentrating on them, she is able to help focus on what is important, what matters, and what the individual wants to see accomplished. She then helps them understand and analyze the options, and get them to cooperate and collaborate in the process of seeking and implementing creative solutions.
Laura is the Broker/Owners of Thinking Real Estate, a Michigan real estate brokerage firm, owner of Orange Door Properties, a rental property company, and is co-owner and “CIO” (Chief Idea Officer) of the Placemaking company Think Jackson.
She is a national trainer for the National Association of REALTORs, specializing in Buyer Agency education; was one of five national trainers for Prudential Real Estate Affiliates; and, she has several recognized national certification in the real estate field.
Laura served as a City Councilperson in Jackson, Michigan's 4th Ward from 2011 through 2015, was reelected in 2019, and is looking forward to serving as the Mayor for the City of Jackson.

2011-2015 City Council Accomplishments:
Made downtown a destination more accessible by working with MDOT to turn Louis Glick Hwy and Washington St from one-way to two-way
Lead efforts in the enhancement and beautification of Jackson by:
working with MDOT to make our overpasses along I-94 more attractive as they are rebuilt
Supporting the Bright Walls Mural Festival since its inception
Expanded the Multi-Modal Pathways
Connected the University of Michigan School of Information with the City of Jackson on civic projects geared toward benefiting Citizens
Helped with the City Master Plan, especially the citizen engagement process
Represented the City's interest on the Cradle to Career Committee
Consistently kept Ward 4 citizens informed and garnered feedback through regular Neighborhood Meetings and email notifications
Served on the City Affairs, Rules & Personnel Committee and established a review process to bring appointed official's contracts in-line with our communities expectations
