My name is Mr. Clendenning and I am the Enrichment & Career Services Facilitator at Hampton High School. The simple goal of the Hampton High School Career Center (HHSCC) is "Launching Futures" - that is, Your Future! This website is your launchpad to explore the career frontiers that await you beyond high school and college. The center acts as command central for your exploratory missions into post-secondary worlds. In addition to me, the HHSCC is comprised of our 4 School Counselors, who oversee Naviance duties and Career/Life Readiness initiatives; Mrs. Marron, who provides Research and Reflection support; Mrs. Roos and Mr. Halter, who assist with 21st-century technologies for developing electronic portfolios and evidence and artifacts; and my Enrichment colleague, Dr. Survinski, whose Doctorate in Leadership will help you navigate workplace competencies such as Communication, Organizational, Creative Thinking, Problem Solving and Technology Skills. Together we will help you chart a course toward your future whether you are bound for college after graduation or heading straight into the workforce.
Many organizations throughout the year send us emails and fliers about programming that their institution, organization or company are holding that we have deemed would qualify for Job Shadowing hours. These programs are referred to as Non-Hampton Sponsored Shadow Opportunities, meaning that the School District does not provide transportation or supervision for students. However, students will be excused from school if the appropriate job shadow absence form is completed and turned into the attendance office. Details and links about these programs will be posted on the School Announcements as they arise.
