Best GSI I have ever had at Cal. Maxi really knows what he is doing and knows how to teach a course.
Maximiliano Lauletta is an amazing GSI. I hope he becomes a professor eventually because he is one of the best teachers I have ever had.
Max was my GSI and I think he is the best GSI I have ever had. He is very helpful, clear, and always clarifies things until you get it. He is very easy to approach and is by far the best in terms of understanding the concepts, explaining it, and genuinely being there for students as a resource.
Maximiliano is one of the best GSIs I have had because he genuinely cares about his students and knows the best way to teach them based on strengths/weaknesses. His teaching style was funny and informative and he really taught students in a way that would help me understand more complex topics. I loved having him as a GSI and can't say enough positive things about him.
This was the best section I have ever had. Maxi explained really well and I felt very prepared.
I thought Maxi was an amazing GSI! His section had many strengths including: clear examples and explanations of course concepts and material, facilitating student's engagement, making sure we were well prepared for assessments, and just overall doing a great job teaching and helping supplement the material presented in lecture.
Recap at beginning of session is very helpful, Maximilliano is the BEST GSI EVER
He is a great GSI. Really cares about his students and if they understand topics
Max is a funny guy. He makes sections interesting and energizing. He is also good at explaining concepts when a student asks him a question, and relieves any anxiety we might be feeling for assignments and the class in general. His review sessions before the exams were incredibly helpful as well.
Very helpful when reviewing concepts.
Instructor was great at explaining concepts and organizing material recap lessons.
GSI was calm and relatable in explanations (same with instructor). Really interesting material and light mood maintained in section to create a prime learning environment and thereby experience.
Maximiliano made such complex and dense concepts seem easy to understand because he was so clear in his explanations. He was also very patient and encouraging in his teaching. If the class was continuously getting stuck on a concept he made sure to go over it multiple times, each time in a simpler (yet complete) way. I think one of my favorite things about Maxi's teaching style is the way he uses extreme examples/numbers to help us see the effects of the concepts/graphs. He was also very concise and clear about what we needed to know within the context of the class and did not try to confuse us with the theoretical, although he was open to talk about those things in office hours. Overall, Maxi was an extremely effective and engaged GSI. I was very scared of taking Econ 1, given that this was my first time taking any economics course, but Maxi made this course much more bearable.
The discussions were really helpful and clarified concepts in lecture that were brought up quickly
Explains very well, cares about students
The section material was very helpful in supplementing what we learned in class and the GSI knew exactly what he was doing
He explained things very well and was helpful in section. Very clear
Maxi is a great GSI. He is very effective and a good instructor in section. You can tell he knows the material and he recognizes when the students do not fully understand. He makes sure to verify that we understand the material and asks us questions in sections. Altogether, I think he's a great instructor.
GSI was great in that he explained things very well and always tried to "dumb down" the material which was super helpful. He also was very attentive to students' questions and actually tried to make sure that the person who asked the question understood the material before just moving on. I also went to the review sections where other GSI's taught the material/addressed questions and Maxi was the only one that taught the material in an accessible manner. I was very lost when trying to learn from the other GSI's.
This section was a great aid to the material presented in class because we began with important theories, their assumptions, and then branched into exercises that showcase these ideas. The model of section was set up so that we would have the key points and be able to test them out in practice.
This section was taught extremely well by Maxi. He broke down difficult concepts from lecture and made them easily digestible.
Maxi was great! He was my GSI and I went to every section. I went to Felipe's once. I went to Benjamin's Office Hours once too
Maxi is an excellent GSI. His instruction is clear, and he seems to genuinely care about our learning. He considers feedback and structures his sections in a way that is very easy to follow.
I think Maxi explained things very well, particularly about what to focus on for exams.
I like this guy.
The GSI is good at explaining concepts and welcomes questions.
This section was extrememly helpful in going through class material, and going through examples to help further understand the material. Maxi was one of the best GSI's, I attended his section and he was not my original GSI. He helped tremendously in understanding the material
Maximiliano knows what he is teaching and presents the material in an engaging way.
I think that Maxi did an excellent job of incorporating both definitions and examples to explain the material. He knew how to put hard concepts into an intuitive perspective.
Maxi was a great GSI!! I didn't really get the chance to work with any other GSI so I can't really evaluate them.
I was in Maxi's section and I felt like he really understood what he was teaching and geared his teaching towards the section students well. I liked his sections because the way he taught and reviewed the material taught in lecture was very effective. I never went to another GSI's sections so I put n/a for them. I do think a lot of them were active on Piazza and/or hosting review sessions but since the questions were asking about sections I put n/a.
Maxi was great at explaining information and answering questions
Max was a great GSI. He explains the material really well, and having him write down the steps of the problems we were solving helped me learn a lot. He is also great at answering questions. Really enjoyed this discussion section!
I dont have complains about this GSI it was great all throughout
