"Latte Hills" refers to a scale model town based at North Rocks RFS Station for training new crew leaders, and other crew members featuring residential, retail and industrial buildings, an urban interface, grasslands and forest, with added reality of smoke and LED lights.
It's a one of the kind model town. Built for training before members are faced with real life situations, the model town is named "Latte Hills" to reflect its location in the Greater Sydney area, which is known for its high coffee culture.
The diorama supports training for members, crew leaders and incident controllers in incident response, incident management, crew teamwork, interagency liaison and communications.
