Latinx Scranton is an oral history project implemented in Fall 2017 by students in HIST 125 Colonial Latin America at The University of Scranton. Most interview transcriptions and recordings can be accessed through the Lackawanna Historical Society.
In Fall 2019 and Spring 2020, students in HIST 190 Digital History utilized the interview transcripts as datasets for digital analyses. Those projects can be viewed here. Please note that the websites were created over the span of a few weeks by students with little or no expertise in immigration, Latin American, or digital history. The projects are not authoritative studies.

Students of Latin American history at the University of Scranton, in conjunction with the Lackawanna Historical Society, are researching the history of Latin Americans in the Scranton area. We are seeking to interview local residents of Latin American origin or descent.

Participation is voluntary, confidential, and, if desired, anonymous. Participants will be required to meet 2-3 times with their interviewer.
