ABOUT ME
Welcome to Latif's website!
I am a PhD Candidate in Environmental Economics at AgroParisTech-INRAE, BETA (UL) and the Climate Economics Chair in France. My research focuses on the intersection of International Trade and Forests, exploring the critical implications for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Currently, my work involves high-resolution spatial analysis to understand how institutional changes, such as EU Accession, influence environmental outcomes like tree cover loss. I am passionate about using econometrics and causal inference to address pressing sustainable development challenges.
Research Interests :
Environmental Economics: Forest, climate change mitigation /adaptation, and deforestati drivers.
Agricultural & Resource Economics: Interaction between agricultural production, climate shocks, and natural resource management.
Econometrics & Causal Impact: Advanced causal inference (Staggered DiD, Synthetic Control, Entropy Balancing), Panel Data, and Time Series analysis.
Geospacial data : Expertise in pixel-level (raster) data extraction, spatial harmonization, and construction of high-resolution longitudinal panels through grid-cell integration.
