In order to meet the diverse needs of learners, these book lists will contain a variety of different types of texts, as well as fiction and nonfiction material. Having a variety of texts is important for a high school audience to increase engagement and interest. Although some of the texts on the list could be used beyond high school, educators can use their professional judgement and select parts of texts for classroom use.
